Hey Dave! I just had a question so I’m new to iracing and just was thinking since I’m upping the ranks and getting better licenses. I was just wondering what you think are the good cars and tracks to get I love McLaren’s and also love formula 1 and just don’t what to get.

Love seeing it, Dave driving Ovals. I recently registered on iRacing and was all hot on driving the MX-5 Cup - it turns out I hate turning right, lol. Switched over to Oval almost exclusively and I'm having so much more fun.

you said you failed to engage a gear if you didn't put the clutch in hard enough. is that a thing, you mean is it active? if you don't engage the clutch it doesn't shift? can you also blip it then? and it does that without any extra software?

Looks like a lovely bit of kit. I particularly like the collar switch, that's a great design! I only have a sequential shifter as I think having two separate shifters in any one rig is ergonomically awkward so the idea of these higher end shifters that can convincingly do both h pattern and sequential is nice. But somewhat predictably, 900 pounds is a bit rich for my blood, so my simjacks sequential will have to do 😂 Great vid!

Fanatec deserves to burn for their random number generators falsely sold as h-pattern shifters. The BDH looks absolutely top shelf, but way out of my price range. So over a year ago, I bought a Japanese made Frex. It's h-pattern only, but absolutely solid. Modelled on one of the old Porsche Mulsanne monsters, the short throw, mechanical feel and reliability makes it my recommendation for h-pattern tragics for whom that sweet looking BDH is just too costly.

I loved the V1 but since went to a Bash Pro active shifter. Can you review the Bash Pro from MVH sometime? I'd love your comparison. I absolutely love my Bash Pro, but also loved the BDH H1, would love to see them compared as I'm still tempted to get this new version .

Dave, I so enjoy your content and the path your presentation is on. The multiple camera angles are lovely. More importantly, the desire to try something new and the will to succeed at it are admirable. Thanks for keeping us old fellas inspired and proving that skill travels. :) Watching you drive oval takes me back to watching NASCAR in the 80s with my Dad when Dale Earnhardt, Bill Elliott et al were in their heyday (and I agree with the other commenter - the Gordon paint likely needs to go lol). Good stuff. Quick question as I had no luck googling: Where can one locate the ‘Jim Bob’ spotter you’re using?

Good racing. Pocono is very tricky. There’s a bump on the low side of the entry into turn 1. You want to turn in late enough to just miss that. You have turn 2 down - buck up & send it! Turn 3 has 2 grooves and the exit is very wide. You can take the inside line, throttle up early and run wide on the exit to get a run thru the start/finish line. Try to minimize time completely off the throttle. It’s okay to get off it to turn in, but then get back on the gas 50-80% to get the rear to step out a bit. This will be quite uncomfortable for a road racer, but that’s how you drive to the limit on these ovals.

Hi Dave I'm returning to Sim Racing and looking at going for a large single screen. Are you using any sort of head tracking ? Or do you find FOV ok with large screen size. Thanks

1. Bloody great start! 2. The onboard views from the car behind are really good. 3. I only discovered Snetterton last season. It's a ripper. Love the last sections. 4. A question, please. Were you a trained/certified driver in your old job? 5. Solid race. Bravo!

Edit: balls out pass through the chicane on lap 6!😊 What is your rear view mirror FOV? Oulton with smaller cars is great. With full size cars and that chicane in S2, it's pretty miserable IMO. Snetterton needs some attention iRacing

Thanks for the race again, but just wanted to mention that i had no idea how to launch, at that time so it might be not the best wat to judge your lauch if you compare it with mine. Also i droped my IR from almost 5k to 2.3 in 2 days by doing last to first challenge in ferrari fixed🤣

I've jumped on the TCR bandwagon this season. It's been awesome so far, and I don't even like Snetterton. Can't wait for Watkin's Glen next week and the endurance race on the weekend.

Great work again Dave. Really helped my understanding. Especially on my problems on corner exit. I wish you would do more of these. I benefited a lot from you instruction video from Spa about using all of the track.

the key on this track is getting to full throttle soonest possible with keeping as straight wheel. other words getting the car rotated in center and rear steer out to max your straight away top end speed. normally in turn 3 I enter high then point nose to the bottom line aim for a center apex trying to get full throttle soon as a can without losing the rear. but great race you did and the lines looked perfect. its a tricky track to run every turn is different

This track is much more difficult than you think it would be in a tcr

You did awesome. Most of the turns are pretty forgiving and you can race hard in those turns. But turn #1 is so scary at Pocono. When no one is around, you can find good grip on a high line in turn 1. But if people are around you they can really push you uncomfortably high or into the wall. Some people struggle on the second turn which is nicknamed the tunnel. A lot of loose back ends, but you nailed that turn all race. I’d really focus on hitting low line when people are around and running mid to high when in clean air.

Nice one. Your inputs are so smooth. Do you bind a second clutch button to dump it to that bite point, or is that start all pedal?

Mate, mad race, I don't know if that was a racing incident because I understeered into him but there was no need for him to take me and himself out of the race, on lap 2...

you did great in this one Dave. Pocono is a TOUGH PLACE.. the best advice is just try to get through it in one piece and hope next week has an easier track. i am definately not a fan of pocono. the best i was able to get here this week was a p12.. and it was struggle the whole way. but good run bud. good job handling that 7 and 3 car. neither were your fault. the 3 kinda pinched you down in the corner and being a naturally tight car you cant just turn when someone thinks you should.
